The journey to Africa has begun, and although the first leg of the trip has been delayed by 2 hours, I am very excited and on bent knee in gratitude for this opportunity. I am at JFK safe and sound thanks to a good friend who helped to make my parting from NYC a smooth and stress-free transiton. Thank you for taking the time and energy to make me feel so loved.
I will be boarding at 1 am for the UK. A 12 hour lay over but then off to Entebee. I look forward to sharing my experiences there. I'll be meeting my kind hosts, in addition to meeting up with a graduate student from Teachers College, who is conducting research very close to where I will be staying in Kampala. Much to learn, much to share.
Thanks to those people who donated DVD's for the students I'll be teaching in Uganda and Kenya.
Thanks to everyone for their incredible support and patience and kindness. It's been challenge to make thus trip a reality.
Hello. Welcome to My Twelve Mile Love Affair blog. This blog has been created as a means to an end: I want to write this book and I need structure in order to create on a regular basis. I need consistency. I need to hold myself accountable as I seek to achieve this goal, and I have found that creating systems like writing a daily blog, whereby others are engaging with me as I work, is magical. It's an effective way for me to work. I hope you'll enjoy the writings I have produced thus far, and what is to yet to come. Thank you for your interest in my work. Hope
